Dr. Kurt-Ludwig Gutberlet,
president and CEO

Joining the company in 1983 as a strategic planning associate, Dr. Gutberlet worked his way through BSH until he was named president and CEO in January 2001. Since then, he has been working to shape BSH's markets by managing the company's worldwide sales, brand management, corporate communications, and auditing activities.

"BSH sees its role as that of a dynamic, driving force in the global appliance market, and thus pursues a consistent policy of actively shaping and directing this market by providing positive impetus," Dr. Gutberlet says. "In all its product areas and across all brands, BSH develops innovation-based advantages that extend beyond the basic product benefits expected in the marketplace."

Dr. Robert Kugler, member of the Board of Management, CTO, and COO

Dr. Kugler joined BSH as executive vice president in April 2000. In addition to his technology-oriented responsibilities in areas such as, Electronics, Drives, and Systems and Corporate Technology, Dr. Kugler also manages BSH's logistics and environmental activities.

In 2002, he was named "Eco Manager of the Year" by European organization WWF Germany (World Wide Fund for Nature) and business magazine Capital.

"We are convinced that our success in the global economy will always be closely linked to our awareness of social and ecological interests and their integration into our long-term business strategy," notes Dr. Kugler.

Dr. Wolfgang Colberg, member of the Board of Management and CFO

Before coming to BSH in 2001, Dr. Colberg was a senior vice president at Robert Bosch GmbH, one of BSH's founding companies.

Today, he is in charge of BSH's activities in finance, business administration, corporate development and controlling, central purchasing, and information technology.

"BSH has set a clear goal for itself: we want to be the benchmark for our industry by shaping the markets with innovation and customer focus," states Dr. Colberg. "Our value-based management gives us leadership in profitability."

Dr. Wolfgang Dowie, executive vice president and personnel director

Serving as the veteran of the Board of Management, Dr. Dowie was named executive vice president in 1993. His main functions surround human resources and customer service, but also include underwriting and insurance, law and industrial policy, taxation, and customs.

"BSH supports and encourages its employees in their personal and professional development at all levels and in all areas," Dr. Dowie says. "The intention is that everyone should be given the opportunity to make the best possible use of their own potential, with a strong emphasis on the transparent transfer of knowledge."
