The new Pulse-Bac 1500 Extreme series from CDCLarue Industries (Tulsa, OK, U.S.) is designed to advance the performance of commercial vacuums and dust-collection systems. The patented Pulse-Bac nonclogging filtration system allows the 1500 Extreme series to take on demanding applications, including concrete, wood, drywall, fiberglass, stone, and other fine powders or dry debris.
Some of the credit for the enhanced performance goes to the high-airflow Flo-Tek vacuum motor from Ametek Commercial Motors. It enables the 1500 Extreme to provide continuous suction under demanding operating conditions by continuously flushing one of five advanced self-cleaning PTFE-coated spun-polyester filter units.
The electronically controlled filtration system provides clog-free operation using only vacuum to keep filters continually clear of dust and debris. A unique air dam creates a cyclone effect inside the collection tank, which prevents dust and debris from continually recycling through the filters and directs all collected material to the bottom of the tank. The nonwoven PTFE-coated polyester filters are more durable than paper filters and able to capture particles as small as 0.1 micron. The nonstick PTFE coating provides the filters with additional resistance to corrosive chemicals and other materials.
The vacuum motor’s light weight is enabled through the use of an advanced motor lamination that increases efficiency and allows for higher motor speeds. These and other improvements in the fan and housing design enable the motor to provide vacuum with 450 cu ft/min and 4.7 in. of water lift.
The vacuum motor’s Infin-A-Tek brushless switched-reluctance motor technology ensures greater than 5000 hours of service life and incorporates advancements in digital control technology and electric circuit design.
