Fusion 10 is Daikin Industries’ designation for its strategic plan, taking the company through 2010. |
The company aims to attain over 1.7 trillion yen (approx. U.S. $ 14.5 billion) in total sales and a 2010 overseas business ratio of 70 percent. The company plans to become the number one company in the world for air-conditioning and fluorochemicals.
Daikin pursued the mid-term strategic plan Fusion 21 from 1995 to 2000, and Fusion 05 from 2001 to 2005. The company realized better-than-planned results, with increased profits for 12 consecutive terms and all-time high profits for 6 consecutive terms. With the Fusion 05 plan the company attained over 600 billion yen (approx. $5.1 billion) in sales from the air-conditioning equipment business and over 100 billion yen (approx. $850 million) in sales in the fluorochemical business, and said it secured the global No. 2 position.
Daikin said in May it plans to acquire O.Y.L. Industries, Bhd., based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and owner of the U.S. HVAC producer McQuay International. Daikin said it now has Malaysian and U.S. approvals to proceed with the acquisition and is awaiting approval from the European Commission.
