Toshiba Group held its 15th Toshiba Group Environmental Expo at the company’s head office in Tokyo, with the theme of “Prevention of Global Warming.” |
The company’s exhibits focused on recent activities for environmental preservation and environmentally friendly products, including plant-based plastic technology. The company says its plant-based plastics can realize approximately 30-percent less CO2 emissions during its life cycle compared to ABS resin plastic.
Toshiba’s “Environmental Vision 2010” initiative aims to double the group’s overall product and business process eco-efficiency by fiscal 2010, compared to fiscal 2000. In 2005, Toshiba reported business process eco-efficiency improvements and, compared to 1990, a 29-percent reduction in CO2 emissions from energy sources and a 29-percent reduction in greenhouse gases other than CO2.
