The wealthiest U.S. consumers are apparently riding out the economic crisis in their backyards. They’re buying more outdoor power equipment like mowers, tillers, edgers, and leaf blowers. And outdoor hearth products like fireplaces, wood stoves, and gas heaters. And they buy outdoor accents like spot lights and path lights. These are 3 of the top 10 categories of consumer products being purchased more frequently by the wealthiest consumer segments in the U.S., according to a new survey out today from Unity Marketing.
The wealthiest Americans are apparently not sprucing up their interiors, however. Products that are way down in purchases by these affluent consumers: area rugs, art reproductions, silverware/flatware, and antique furniture/collectibles.
