Therm-0-Disc’s new thermistor probe is said to offer engineers who design refrigerators and freezers a highly reliable, low-cost temperature sensor. With the new 12J Package probe, the company says it provides a sensor that is both cost-effective and reliable. In designing the new probe, Therm-0-Disc says it combined its own design approach with careful selection of materials and a tightly controlled manufacturing process to improve the reliability of the 12J over competing models. During operation, the 12J probe detects the temperature inside a refrigerator or freezer’s food compartment and provides feedback to an electronic device that controls the appliance’s cooling system.
